About Michael
Michael is a significantly experienced singing teacher, educator and speaker whose clients include West End performers, professional singers and singing teachers. He is the Head Tutor of Singing/Head of Department at Italia Conti and teaches on the faculty at Trinity Laban.

Michael has significant experience working with professional singers as well as students at the highest levels of training. He is also among the few vocal rehabilitation coaches (VRC) registered in the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine's directory.

Michael exclusively teaches high-level professional performers (West End/Broadway/Touring/Cruise Performers, Recording Artists, TV/Film, etc.). If you are a hobbyist performer, Michael offers an initial consultation but may recommend further study with a suitable teacher.
In Michael's role as a vocal rehabilitation coach (VRC), he works collaboratively with the specialist Voice Clinic at Lewisham Hospital and privately. In this role, Michael helps singers with functional voice disorders, typically after they have been seen by a specialist laryngologist (ENT) and have been advised that it is suitable to return to singing.

Michael teaches Musical Theatre alongside contemporary commercial styles including pop and rock. He also is experienced teaching classical and operatic singing, having trained at the Guildhall School where he received 1st Class BMus and MMus and has extensive training in vocal pedagogy.

Michael's lessons aim to demystify singing and give students practical vocal skills. Using science-informed pedagogy and his own experience as a performer, Michael structures lessons to help students make tangible improvements to their singing. Singing lessons are tailored to enable students to develop a secure vocal technique and also to grow as communicators and musicians with the ability to make independent choices as artists.
